Whiz

Softbank Robotics

The commercial vacuum robot by Softbank Robotics. Powered by BrainOS — the leading AI platform for cleaning robots.

Whiz cleaning robot
1,500-2,000m² per charge
3 hrsruntime
600storable routes

The Softbank Whiz is a veteran among commercial cleaning robots — proven in thousands of deployments, continuously improved, and powered by Brain Corp's leading AI platform BrainOS. The unique concept: the Whiz is a "cobot" that is manually guided through rooms once, then autonomously repeats the routes — up to 600 stored routes enable flexible scheduling.

HEPA filtration with 99.97% efficiency makes it the first choice in hygiene-sensitive environments. Hot-swap batteries enable near 24/7 operation without charging breaks — a staff member swaps the battery in seconds, and the robot keeps working.

The Whiz Connect app provides fleet management for multiple units, push notifications for issues, and detailed cleaning reports. The Whiz is particularly optimized for carpet but also works on hard floors.

Teach Once, Work Autonomously

The Whiz is a "cobot" — it works autonomously after a person teaches it the routes. Guide it once, then the robot takes over.

Why the Whiz?

The Whiz is the right choice for businesses seeking a proven, reliable cleaning robot — no experiments, no teething problems.

The teach-and-repeat principle makes setup intuitive: any staff member can create new routes by manually guiding the robot once. From then on, the Whiz cleans the route autonomously with exactly the same precision — day after day, night after night. The hot-swap batteries are a genuine productivity advantage: instead of 2–3 hours of charging, a staff member swaps the battery in 30 seconds and the robot continues working.

In shift operations or large facilities with multiple units, that is an enormous benefit. HEPA filtration is often a requirement for hotels, hospitals, and educational institutions. With our full-service model, we provide multiple battery sets and ensure charged batteries are always available.

What do the numbers mean?

The Whiz's specifications are geared toward reliability and usability: the 1,500–2,000 m² per charge are conservative figures — in practice this varies by carpet type and soiling level. The 3 hours of runtime per battery sounds modest, but thanks to hot-swap the effective runtime is unlimited. The 600 storable routes mean: even complex buildings with dozens of different cleaning plans are no problem.

The up to 30% efficiency improvement over manual cleaning is based on more consistent pace and optimized routes. The up to 50% better cleanliness results come from the consistent, non-fatiguing work pattern. Whisper mode enables operation in occupied rooms — hotels report that guests often do not even notice the Whiz.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Whiz

During initial setup, you manually guide the Whiz through the desired route. The robot records the path with its sensors and saves it as a route. From then on, it can autonomously follow that route at any time. You can create up to 600 different routes — for example, different routes for different weekdays, different areas, or different cleaning intensities. New staff can create their own routes within minutes.

Hot-swap means: the battery can be exchanged in seconds during operation without shutting down the robot. While other robots sit at the charging station for hours, with the Whiz a staff member swaps the empty battery for a full one and the robot continues working immediately. For large areas or shift operations, this is a decisive advantage. One set of batteries charges while the other is in use — theoretically the Whiz can run 24/7.

The Whiz is primarily developed for carpeted floors and most effective there. It does work on hard floors such as PVC, laminate, or tile — with reduced brush performance to prevent scratches. For pure hard-floor environments, however, we recommend our scrubber-dryers like the CC1 or MT1, which can also mop and scrub in addition to vacuuming.

Yes, the Whiz Connect app enables fleet management for any number of units. You see the status of all robots in real time, receive notifications for issues, can start cleaning runs, and pull reports. For large organizations with dozens of units, this is indispensable. Data is stored in the cloud, accessible from anywhere. The app is available for both iOS and Android.
